My official stance on pricing is that I'm £45 per hour, however I always give a discount on the second and subsequent hours. If you're very local then I'll charge £40. Basically the longer you use me for the cheap my hourly rate gets. What ever the charge you'll be sure that it's in line with current pricing and fair.

Recently I visited a customer in Forest Row, I was there for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I removed a virus from his PC, fixed his dialup internet, sorted his e-mail and advised him on broadband packages. I changed him £45.

Another recent customer of mine needed me to visit and remove loads of spyware and advertising that was causing his computer to be unreliable and slow. I was there for 2 hours and 20 minutes, I charged £90.

One customer came to me with a laptop that wouldn't start. There was a lot of files and pictures that were irreplaceable so a disaster recovery was required. I took the laptop back to my office, removed the hard drive and attached it to one of my purpose built disaster recovery computers. Using some specialist software (and a lot of patience) I was able to recover all the required information from the broken 40GB hard drive. I then supplied and installed a new 100GB fast hard drive and reinstalled Windows and all the software that was originally installed. I setup the internet and e-mail and various other programs. Once done I restored the data that I have successfully recovered and tested it which completed successfully. All in all I'd spent over 16 hours on this latop recovering their information, supplying and installing the new premium quality Seagate large and fast tiny laptop hard drive, setting everything up as it was and restoring their data. I charged £380.
